Over our very busy weekend, I wore many different outfits. And the thing that struck me was that I have built a versatile wardrobe over the last few years. A wardrobe that does not send me into a panic when I know I have different events coming up. A wardrobe that I know I can easily find what I need and want and be ready at a moments notice. It was a satisfying feeling. I no longer aimlessly shop for “I don’t know what”, but keep a list of pieces I would like to add and when I do shop, specifically look for those items, take my time, find the right one, the one that will last. I tell you, it’s an evolution of thought in regards to my clothing. It feels really good.
To my stepdaughter’s college graduation, I went with a summer dress and blazer. I feel like I can never go wrong with this kind of look. It’s fresh, more than casual but not a suit and can be heavily accessorized, which is my favorite thing to do.
I picked up this dress from Old Navy last year and didn’t wear it over the winter but as soon as the sun started shining again, I couldn’t wait to pull it out.

Eventually I will get tired of turquoise accessories… right?

Though I wanted to wear a wedge or little pump, my foot is still recovering and I needed a roomy flat. It still worked for me!
Do you have a versatile wardrobe? How do you keep it that way?
And Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely mother’s out there!!
